Oh man Naushy, I stayed up the whole night watchin the first season of Dexter...I slept at 6 am :O
That is SO cool that you're into it as well (shhh don't tell me anything!) I love the inner monologues he has with himself and how he makes sure that the person is really guilty (unlike stupidass Kira) It's slightlyyyy disappointing in the sense that there are no surprises so far really...like for example when they first showed his brother..the first time he told Dexter's sister that his mom died in front of him and something about how the pieces weren't there, I knew he was the killer (im sure you did too)...also it was obvious early on that the ice killer was related to dexter as he knew things about him that a regular dude wouldn't know...so that part kinda sucks cause I love being surprised and shocked :D But it's still really good man, and it's FUNNY in a macabre way (I lmao when Masooka was onto him and he goes in his head, "That's it, no more doughnuts for Masooka" lolol!!)

I don't think this show is meant to be the suspense/mystery type, and there are no truly shocking elements throughout the whole series (OK... just maybe one 'shocking' thing happens later on). It's more of a crime psychological thriller with some comedic undertones and lots of gore, and the story just unfolds as you watch the episodes.
ReplyDeleteInner monologues are indeed interesting, so are the flashbacks from Dexter's past with his foster dad.
Dexter’s character is way better than Kira’s; at least he’s got some sense of morality even though he’s completely devoid of emotions and feelings, and he makes an effort to blend in and act normal. I actually feel sympathetic towards him, and even root for him most of the time (unlike Kira… I hate his guts and I hope he DIES… Still haven’t gotten around to finishing Death Note; can’t get over L’s death).
On a side note... I was so frustrated after watching the dumb-ass Naruto filler episode that I went on the net and actually read five chapters of the manga to see what's REALLY supposed to happen in the story. But I think I should stop.... prefer the anime experience more.
ReplyDeleteOmg the naruto episode!!! lmao!!!! Ok, we knew it was gonna be a lil ridiculous and not contribute anything substantial to the story-line...But here are my thoughts on it:
ReplyDelete1.The 4 naruto's...the feminine one...made me LAUGH man...the eyelashes lol...and the poses he'd make..I'm gigglin thinkin about it (on a deeper level it also made me think about how many 'Soni's are inside of me)
2. OMG @ GUY SENSAI AND HIS BUTTOCKS!!! When I first saw him swimming towards the boat with nothin but his panties on, I was horrified Naushy!! And then he climbs on the boat and the way he would sit/stand....I've seen way more of Guy then I ever ever wanted to D:
Naww, wait for the anime Naushy...this ridiculousness can't go on forever, right?
Watching the scenes with Guy Sensei was DISTURBING... man! As if his green skintight outfit wasn't already enough...
