ReplyDeleteAnd that is just one of the many reasons why Mulan is the best female Disney character. She simply kicks ass throughout the entire movie.
1) In order to prevent her aging and crippled father from going to the war, she becomes a man and joins the army, despite knowing the fact she will be killed if the army were to find out that she is actually a woman.
2) She goes through vigorous physical training at the army camp (very unwomanly). Not only she becomes physically stronger, but she is not afraid to use her intelligence to solve problems (e.g. how she managed to get the arrow down from pole).
3) She can take care of herself, and the does not need to be ‘saved’ by men.
4) In the end, she was the one who defeats the villain; not the ‘prince’. In fact, I believe she saved the prince’s life a couple of times.
5) Her feats were extraordinary; not only the emperor bowed down to her but the entire city as well.
6) I personally like the fact that she is not as beautiful as the other Disney princesses, and she is actually a funny character!
So there! And I’m sure there are many more reasons that I’m too lazy to think of right now.
7. Her 'prince' is hotter than the other nancy boy princes! :D
