Kk maybe I'm just being an ass cause I'm ill, but dexter's gf is just so damn annoying. I don't know if it's cause she reminds me of Brooke from bold n the beautiful...or if it's cause she's just so...stupid? Is it just me or is it like kinda obvious he doesn't love her..and if so, then how can she not see it?

ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't like Rita (Dexter's gf) too much either. I think it's supposed to be obvious that he doesn't (or rather can't) love her, and only hangs out with her in order to blend into society and appear normal. Doesn't he say in the first season that he can't feel emotions or truly love anyone (not even his sister or father). So it's basically all an act, imo...
LOL!!!! I just watched the "He Man sings" video... haha, the lip movements and the facial expressions actually go with the song!
ReplyDeleteJa, Although he does need her and her kids and is protective about them (like he is about his sister) but he also looks at random people in love and asks himself if that's what love looks like...But how can she not SEE it? Isn't it like so obvious when someone's in love with you and when he is not??

ReplyDeleteI agree with you; Dexter does form some sort of 'attachment' towards Rita and her kids as the series progresses, though I don't think it's love. Perhaps, the reason why Rita can't see it because of the botched relationship with her husband, which might have messed up her perception on what love truly is... and well, the fact that she is kinda stupid. However, their stories get quite interesting later on...

ReplyDeleteUnless you were talking about the bookclub, and there actually are lots of bookclubs in second life...I'm in two of them..one's like for children (I like bein a smartass at that particular one) and the other is like...authors come and read a chapter of their book once a week..and at the end of the session if you have a story or poem or whatever, you can read it aloud (it's sorta like avatars but using the voice feature to talk at those events)
LOL about the Avatars hugging and sneezing on one another. Second Life sounds interesting...
ReplyDeleteIt is..there's lots to do...rp, concerts, art, visiting scenic places,dancing, skating, fishing, treasure hunts...they also have a makkah there and the avatars that hang out there are wearing burkah and have religious discussions..
ReplyDeleteIt also has its dark side...which I won't get into here :)

I believe you guys told me a little bit about the dark side of SL, i.e. buying skins for the Avatars and stuff. Am I to assume there are things on SL that are much 'darker'?

ReplyDeleteOh buying skins isn't dark at all, but as they advertise the skins nude so that you know what you're getting, it can be offensive to some..
The dark side of SL...mm, how to explain...ok,in SL..just like you can go fishing at a beautiful lake there or to a fun concert or a dazzling art show...you can also go to places where you can see castrations, rapes, orgies, bestiality, bdsm, executions, and the list goes on...Ofcourse, all it is is a bunch of people role playing, no ones really gettin killed or castrated, but yeah, that's definitely the dark side of SL...To sum it up, the dark side of SL is how human beings behave when all of societies rules are gone
Thus the name Second Life...
