I just finished watching the season finale of the latter series, and well... it was such a let down. Really sad because the story of "Korra" had so much potential for development, and could have even surpassed its predecessor. However, the last couple of episodes had quite a few cases of deus ex machina and some plot holes, which I felt deflated the 'epicness' of the series and belittled the amazing events leading up to the finale.
Oh well... overall "Korra" was still enjoyable to watch, though the season finale could have been handled better. Sorry about the rant as it's probably meaningless to y'all, but I am really feeling 'underwhelmed' at the moment.
Other News: Read about 400+ pages from "A Storm of Swords". Still haven't watched the last two episodes of Game of Thrones, or any of the recent Naruto episodes!
Ohh, sorry to hear that Nawshy :(( I hate it when shows let you down (The Office (after they took away Steve Carell), Dexter (gotten so boring), Lost (last few eps when we find out that the parallel lives never cross), to name a few)...but it still sucks when the finale is a let down...its like, I watched all that for THIS?
ReplyDeleteGood for you that you read so much of storm of swords! Has the "Red Wedding" happened yet? ;)
I bought three Neil Gainman books (Not seen any of his stuff at jarir) from Malay and I'm reading those these days...I'm also watching "Breaking Bad"...its pretty cool, I'm liking it....I also got some cross-stitching (prolly my only girly interest) that I'm working on...oh, and I hooked up my cable finally...so...thats all I've been up to.....Ashamed to say, I've not been workin out...Shall we pick a day and start it up again (if you haven't already) and post?
You're so right about many great shows losing their touch over time, or ending on a crappy note. Having said that, I still love the Avatar world and Wallah, it was on my mind the whole day today.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read about the 'Red Wedding' yet. Hopefully soon!
I've read one of Neil Gaiman's books named "Stardust"; didn't like it though. Which titles did you buy? His book "Neverwhere" has been on my reading list for quite some time.
I've heard about "Breaking Bad" being one of the best shows out there; do you recommend that I watch it?
I've been working out for the past couple of days. So yes, we start posting on the blog.
Post on the blog asap after you read about the red wedding! >:)
ReplyDeleteI have Stardust as well...It was an ok read really...The ones I got were American Gods, The Graveyard Book (You would love that one) and the third, my sister is readin it, it's a bunch of short stories...
Hmm...That was one of the first things I thought when I started watchin Breakin Bad, would Nawshy like it?....What attracted me to it was that, like you said, it's supposed to be one of the best shows and also that the main character is played by the same actor that played Hal (the father) in Malcolm in the Middle and I always thought he was hilarious so I thought it would be cool to see him in a serious role...Breaking Bad is hilarious in its own absurd way, but its supposed to be a serious show....I've no idea really if you would like it or not...I'm near the end of the first season...If you are bored, dl the first episode and see if it appeals to you, is what I suggest.
And yesh please, lets post about the exercise..its the only thing that'll make me move my ass :D
